September 1st, 2003 will stand as a milestone
day Motorhead history. On that fateful Labor Day, those three masters of
metal rolled up their sleeves and put their hands into cement for all the
ages to see. Lemmy, Mikkey and Phil were asked to join the Rock pantheon
of music luminaries that adorn the sidewalk in front of the famous Guitar
Center on Hollywood's Sunset Strip. |

Veteran drummer and long time Motorhead Friend
ERIC SINGER was called on to induct the boys into the RockWalk. After
some very kind words, Phil, Lemmy & Mikkey all stepped up and pressed their
hands into the concrete slabs laid out before them. In typical Lemmy fashion,
he pressed his hand done while flipping the bird. Even the Mayor of Los
Angeles recognized the event with a scroll commending the band for decades
of "balls out" rock & roll. |

Later that evening, the guys treated an intimate
Whiskey audience to a KILLER live show. Their entire sound system barely
squeezed into the club and made the entire building shake with every strum
of Lemmy's bass. A late addition to the set, "You Better Run" found the
band sharing the stage with a few topless ladies dancing to the thunderous
offerings of the mighty Motorhead. Even Eric Singer got into the game when
he took over Mikkey's drum kit on the classic "Going To Brazil". |

In the end everyone had a wonderful time. The band was shown some long
overdue respect from the music establishment and promised all many more
years of bleeding ears and smiling faces. |
